Global Research Assistant

We serve a diversified client base of high-net-worth individuals and institutions, including 401(k) plans, pension plans, Taft-Hartley plans, endowments and foundations. For many of these clients, our relationship goes beyond investment management and includes customized solutions that address key issues and solve client-specific problems. We are currently recruiting for a Research Assistant to work on our Global Strategies Team.


Research Assistant will provide support to analyst members of the Global Strategies Group. Areas of research will focus on macroeconomics and individual countries’ geopolitical, policy, and investment environment backdrop. Both individual research & team-based analysis will be required. The Assistant will also participate in security selection for the firm’s International Equity Funds.


  • Conduct intensive macroeconomic research using a structured approach to analyze countries and identify attractive markets and/or sectors.
  • Research and collect information from sources including databases, reference works, documents, newspapers, statistical records and on-line sources to support analytical work. This work will be done primarily on an individual basis.
  • Analyze and evaluate the applicability of information gathered with guidance of the senior analysts.
  • Develop creative country, currency, interest rate, and sector perspectives that lead to unique investment opportunities.
  • Understand Manning & Napier’s global investment strategies and processes and apply them to international securities (including equities, fixed income and currencies) from all areas of the world.
  • Prepare written report, presentations, and investment screens detailing results of research efforts and analytical conclusions of the Global Strategies team.
  • Present recommendations to one or more senior analysts for review.


  • Bachelor's degree required, CFA a plus
  • Outstanding interpersonal & written communication skills.
  • Proficiency using Excel, Factset, & Bloomberg.
  • Excellent knowledge of finance and accounting.
  • Highly motivated, committed and responsible.
  • Detail oriented with demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
